Solvent Storage Cabinets are specifically designed for the storage of flammable and combustible liquids. Construction meets the requirements listed by UFC, OSHA and NFPA No. 30-1993 and are UL listed. The doors are self-closing and synchronized so that both doors will always fully close. The right hand door is equipped with a three-point latching system that automatically engages when the doors close. Each door is equipped with a fusible-link hold-open feature that ensures the door will close should the temperature outside cabinet exceed 165 ° F. A 2” deep liquid-tight pan covers the entire bottom of the cabinet to contain leaks and spills. Two diametrically opposed vents with spark screens are provided in the back of the cabinet as well as a grounding screw. Standard cabinet color is Fisherbrand ™ White. Cabinets are labeled: FLAMMABLE - KEEP FIRE AWAY.

Fisherbrand Wood Cabinet Details

Fisherbrand ™ wood laboratory cabinets are made from hand selected premium rift cut oak or rotary cut maple veneers, featuring a solid mortise/tenon top frame, doweled, glued and screwed European construction. Robotically applied environmental friendly finishes are chemically resistant resulting in beautiful board room quality furniture. Cabinets have a full flush overlay design with squared edges. They are vertically grain matched and are stained inside and out allowing for relocation during laboratory remodeling. All of our products are supported by a 2 year warranty. All four corners of the drawer box are dovetailed.

Drawer bottom is white hardboard let into birch drawer sides, secured underneath by a continuous bead of glue.

Separate drawer face is attached to drawer box and vertically matched.

Drawer sides are sanded smooth, have a coat of baked on catalyzed conversion varnish, and grooved to receive the drawer bottom.

Drawer glides are side mounted, zinc plated, ball bearing, 100 lb. heavy duty, full extension.

Solid hardwood intermediate rails are bored, doweled & glued into end panels. Drawer separators are let into the front & rear intermediate rails.

Top frame members are solid hardwood components, mortise & tenon construction, glued, bored, doweled & screwed into end panels. Front frame member has lumber edging.

Glides are side mounted, zinc plated, ball bearing, 100lb. heavy duty, full extension.

Back is 1/4” hardboard with color blended face let into end panels.

Hinges are 5-knuckle, heavy duty, laboratory grade stainless steel.

Right and left sides of each cabinet are finished

Squared edges, full overlay, solid door construction with lumber edging.

Bottom is 3/4” hardwood plywood with lumber edging.

Wire pulls are laboratory grade stainless steel.

Toe & rear anchor rails are 3/4” hardwood plywood, bored, doweled & glued into end panels.

Three-Point Latching System

Fisherbrand ™ tall case doors operate with a three-point latching system. The quality of a three-point latching system enables the door to be pulled securely shut. Tapered aluminum rods, which engage plastic strike plates at the top and bottom of the case, move in nylon glides attached to the back of the door. The middle of the door is secured by a latch plate, which engages the side of the case, or latches behind the left door on the cases with double doors.

Hinges & Pulls

Fisherbrand hinges and pulls are made from stainless steel. The hinges are heavy duty laboratory grade and hospital tipped for consistency, strength and durability. They are certified to the rigors of SEFA 8 performance standards.

Locks

Our standard lock for wood cabinets is a 5 disc tumbler style with a platinum chrome finish. Various keying arrangements are available. Cabinets ordered with locks will include lock panels for all drawers. Please contact your Fisher Scientific ™ Sales Representative for assistance.

Our 10-step process begins in a clean environmentally controlled room. Your selected non-grain raising stain is robotically applied, oven dried and then sealed with a catalyzed vinyl sealer that is thermally cured at 125 ° F. This process yields a superior finish, chemically resistant, tough, durable, smooth; and, with excellent color stability and high luster.
